The Madison below Quake Lake is still fishing well. The hot weather has pushed back evening emergences of caddis and Epeorus. Don't be surprised if the fish are reluctant to rise until the sun is low and the water cools off. Keep an eye on the water for spinners as well. If we have cools nights each morning will offer emergences of caddis and a few PMDs. When the warm water slows dry fly fishing nymph the cool pockets with serendipitys, small pheasant tails and Micro Madison Beadheads. Don't forget to swing a few soft hackles. Trout love caddis pupae.
