Almanor Lake Fish Report

Lake Almanor - CA (Plumas County)

Smelt bait balls dominate the sonar throughout the entire east basin. Other boats report the same. There's more fishing going on than catching this week. Several boats didn't report anything significant. We got a trifecta (brown, salmon rainbow) yesterday, all average size fish running in the 1.5- to 1.75-pound range. The full moon and clear nights have the ”All you Can Eat” buffet line open all night. Best bite has been real early and dropping off by 8:00 am, before resuming about 11:00 am, which is about the time the fog burns off. Fog so thick, it's comforting to have a good sonar with reliable GPS.

Both public boat ramps are open and operational, also several private ramps like Hamilton Branch Association, and The peninsulas Rec. 1 and 2. Plumas Pines and  Prattville pulled all of their docks out last week. Doug Neal: (530) 258-6732 http://www.almanorfishingadventures.com
