Trout are cruising the shoreline so shore fishermen have a good chance of catching a limit.  Pikes Point is doing pretty good. If the minnows are in tight to shore, the trout are just outside of them.  Folks are putting their time in but coming back with some nice fish in the 18 to 21 inch range. Bite is good early and late and slows mid-day.

Winds are challenging tubers and those wading, but consider the fish will probably be on the leeward edge of the structures waiting for the food to be dislodged by the wave action.  They also come right up on top during the wind but not where they will be beat up against the rocks.

Shrimp Island and the points scattered at Lake of the Woods and Wildcat Point will probably fish well on burnt orange & brown leeches. Eagle’s Nest area minnow patterns, orange and brown leech patterns. Nightcrawlers are pretty much the standard “bait” along with artificial baits such as powerbait.

There are still fish off The Springs and Eagle’s Nest to Black Mountain and Miners Point.   Fishing has been pretty good off Pike’s for bait, fly and jig fishermen. Even though it has slowed down a little. The jetty wall has been fishing pretty well, but one day has been better than the next.   The flat water has been most of the problem.  www.eaglelakefishing.net
