26,000lbs of rainbow trout have been trucked in from Bridgeport, Nebraska the first 12 weeks of trout season.

2,000lbs of rainbow trout are stocked EVERY Wednesday.

After a slow week of fishing due to a broke down stocking truck, this week's stocking was much better! 2,000lbs of trout were stocked on Wednesday February 4th and the bite has been 'wide open' in the flats ever since. Fish are chewing on any colored power bait, salmon eggs, mouse tails and inflated night crawlers dipped in 'Bite On' garlic scent. Boats trolling Rapala's and SC Shiners have also been picking up fish. Fly fishermen are enjoying a much improved midge bite around the 3 pipes area.
Lots of BIG rainbow trout caught this week!
Big trout of the week was caught by Mario Leon of Santa Ana with a 9lb 08oz tailwalker that hit a rooster tail (rainbow) off the shoreline in zone 2. Dean Lusk of Laguna Niguel was trolling a pink SC shiner to land a 9lb 02oz trout at the big island. Bryan Holtan of Huntington Beach landed a 8lb 09oz trout fishing a P minnow via float tube in the flats.
