Silver the star of June Lake Loop

June Lake Loop - June Lake, CA (Mono County)

Fishing has picked up, especially for planted trout. There have been larger trout caught. Trolling and bait fishing get trout if anglers can get down 30 to 40 feet. June Lake Marina (760) 648-7726; Fishing remains slow despite lots of pressure. Gull Lake Marina (760) 648-7539; Fishing has been steady this week with a few more stringers coming in thanks to a truck load of catchable Rainbows put in by DFW this past week. Look for things to continue to stay steady as we are receiving a load of Desert Springs Oregon fish weighing in between 1 and 3 pounds on Monday afternoon. We will receive about 400 pounds total from Desert Springs so give them a day or so to settle in and they should be primed for the catching. Anglers saw some good action this week with Berkley products ranging from Power Baits with any type of Garlic in it, to Mice Tails of all colors. Early in the week Anglers were killing it using Good Old Fashioned worms as the weather was cool as we received some rain and cooler nights. We are suppose to get some more rain this weekend and while it is difficult for fishing it sure is nice for our water levels and fire danger, so we will take the moisture. The lake at Silver Lake is up slightly over last week and has not gone down below where we started at the beginning of the summer so things are looking good.Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
