Trout going deeper at Eagle

Eagle Lake - Susanville, CA (Lassen County)

by Nor Cal Fish Reports
6-17-2015

Lake surface temp 66F-67.5F early Monday morning. Wildcat Pt & Christie Bay shot up to 68.5F by 7:30AM. The lake is heating up. The big spring was pumping out 58F-59F just south of Miners Pt. It won’t be long before surface temps heat up & the lake’s thermoclines tighten up for our summer mode and push these fish to 24 to 30ft deep but until we see 70F surface temps for 3 to 5 days, the fish will remain scattered in the water column so change thing up if you’re not catching. Orange continues to be the best color of lure, trolling fly or grub. 7-8ft deep early and 15 to 24ft deep later in AM www.eaglelakefishing.net
