The release from Lost Creek Reservoir is around 1,760 cfs and 52F. Dodge Bridge is around 1,800 cfs and mid-60s F.

Summer steelhead are still moving into the upper river. Last week 236 swim-ins at the hatchery brings the season total to 914. Several anglers have caught early summer steelhead on swung dry flies and small lures.

Spring Chinook continue to show up at the hatchery. Last week 302 new Chinook entered the trap, bringing the season total to 8,852.

No wild spring Chinook harvest is allowed upstream of Dodge Bridge and the “hatchery hole” is closed to Chinook fishing but re-opens for steelhead and trout angling on Aug 1. Make sure to check the Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations for each section of river before you head out.

Trout fishing has been pretty good. Small lures and flies work well.
