In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Half day Bass boats are available Mon-Thurs for 35$ each.

Trout fishing has slowed a bit but should pick up with Wednesday's plant. As the water gradually warms up the Trout are gravitating more to the western, deeper, portions of the lake like Oakvale Cove and the areas west of Senior Shoreline. Powerbait and or powerworms (mostly greens and yellows), inflated nightcrawlers, and salmon eggs have been the top baits.

With each passing week the Bass bite is improving. The pre-spawn of the Largemouth Bass has begun and small to medium Bass can be found near structure, often feasting on shad. As the days grow longer and closing times are pushed back the half day bass boat rentals become more of a value. Swimbaits, shad raps, and dark colored plastics are all working well.
