Best action has been on a Carolina rig with garlic or anchovy oil on crawlers, shrimp and mackerel. Don't forget they also like almost anything with garlic. Action has been good all around the lake with the best bet being around the small island. Some really nice size fish this week. Julio Palacio from Victorville landed a nice 9.5 cat from the north shore using shrimp dipped in Hog Wild. Andrew Moulton of Riverside also likes the north shore area as he brought in a 8 pound cat from there as well Andrew was using mackerel. From the grassy bank area, Richard Reed from Upland, hooked up with a nice 7.5 pounder using the garlic crawlers. Adam Lloyd of Hesperia showed his talent from sandy point with a 8 &6.5 pounders using mackerel & shrimp combo.

1,000 pounds of fish on Monday October 14 & 21, 2013. 1,000 pounds of trophy size cats will be planted the 28th of October. Lots of large fish still prowl the depths. The lake is open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the day session and 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. for the night fishing. No state fishing license is required here.

Trout are coming the end of October with 1,000 pounds a week from the cold waters of Mt. Lassen and additional loads of those famous Chalk Mound Trout coming on selected dates in November, December, January and February.
