Hello from your Lake Jennings!

Catfish this Labor Day weekend started off very strong and continued through the weekend with several limits caught. Lake Jennings stocked 2,000 pounds last week, and we still have more to come this September. Typically, the bite gets better just as we end the night fishing season. You now have the opportunity to continue fishing at night for a month longer, until the end of September. Lanterns are required when visiting the lake after dark.

The Redear and Bluegill continue to bite since they may be the only ones enjoying the high water temps. Please note the temperature listed over the past month was inaccurate, and the water is much warmer. See the correct listing below.

The bass bite continues to be fair to good with several boils spotted in the early morning. Try shallow diving jerk baits. Throughout the rest of the day, anglers have been targeting the shoreline throwing a variety of plastics.

The bait of choice for most species has been the European Nightcrawlers which we started to sell a month ago, and we can't keep them on the shelf. They are 20 to the pack, so you certainly get a lot more worms for your buck, and they seem to be the ideal size.

Remember the lake water level has been dropping so everything is on the move. Also, keep on the lookout for the announcement of the change to the upcoming trout season. Hopefully you will be as excited as we are.

Lake Jennings Campground continues to draw in campers from all over, and if you haven't made your reservation yet don't wait any longer. If you like to have your camping experience a bit less occupied then come out during the week from Sunday through Thursday.
