The sailfish bite is slowly but surely picking up some steam with the
boats now averaging about 1.5 per boat day fished. The dorado counts
have slowed up a little, but the quality has been getting better and
better. Overall counts for 16 offshore fishing days resulted in 2
stripers, 24 sailfish, 1 mako shark and one near 50 lb. dorado. The
super pangas, reporting for 7 days fished reflected 3 sailfish and 18
dorado.
Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy with temps from 78 nights to 92 daytime highs and scattered PM and night rains.
Sea Conditions: Generally, calm, with temps at 87 inshore and decreasing to 85 offshore, light, tropical breezes.
Best Fishing Area: Generally, about 20 miles is where the beginning is and trolling outbound to the southwest to about 25-28 miles.

The boat skippers are reporting lots of billfish but they are not being overly cooperative with the biting and that has kept the overall average to just under a billfish per boat day fished. The "GAVIOTA VIII", skippered by Captain Juan Dominguez, was the high boat producer for the week, reflectting 1 blue marlin, (under 300 lbs.) 1 sailfish, 1 striper, along with 10 dorado and 15 yellowfin tuna ffor his 5 fishing......
