While moving into the full moon phase has slowed the billfish bite a
little, it continues to be terrific fishing for the Pacific striped
marlin and continues to reflect catches that were common some forty
years ago. High boat for the week, again, was the "Gaviota VIII",
skippered by Captain Juan Dominguez, reflecting 21 stripers for 4
fishing days. The overall counts for a combined total of 49 fishing
days reflected 109 stripers, (99 releases) 29 yellowfin tuna and 68
dorado.
Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy days with comfortable temperatures from
62 nights to 85 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Excellent conditions with some northwest surface
breezes, temps at 74-75 at the Golden Gate Bank and slowly rising to
76-77 at the Gorda Banks.
Best Fishing Area: Continues to be the Golden Gate Bank for most of
the boats with the Finger Bank even better.
Best Lure/Bait: A fair bite on the artificials this week, especially
in the mackerel colors, but live mackerel were the key to the
highliner scores.
Live Bait Supply: Plenty of Caballitos but making mackerel at the
Golden Gate was still available and was working out best for the boats.

WEATHER: It seems to be cooling a little bit every day, maybe a degree less in the morning every other day. As of this morning our low was 80 degrees, down from 84 last week.
