According to Captain Temo Verrboonen, the blue water has moved
offshore to about 30 miles and the sailfish and marlin have
simultaneously made the same move, albeit, a few strikes are still
taking place in the off colored water and inside the 30 mile mark.
The roosterfish bite was a little off but they did locate some good
action in the Guerrero area and good catches on the Jack Cravelle at
the mouth of the Velentin River. Temo said the roosterfish were
chasing the pencil poppers with 3-4 fish following every cast and the
Jack Cravelle bit real well on 3.5 oz. mega bait lures.
I/Z Climate: Mostly sunny and warm days, temps from 71 nights to 91
daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Very light winds and good temps, but the clarity was
the major deficit for the area.
Best Lure/Bait: Pencil poppers, typically in the red/white colors
are always hot in this area and the 3.5 ox. megabaits were working
well for the jacks. Offshore, rigged baits were best for the billfish.
