Great Ending to Red Snapper Season

All good things must come to an end and we said goodbye to red snapper season for GPB.

Thursday, July 31, we had another great day deep sea fishing on the 12 hour trip aboard the New Buccaneer. They returned with
188 red snapper, 274 vermillion snapper, 1 rock hind grouper, 2 king mackerel, and 7 shark.

On the last day of the federal for-hire red snapper fishery, the Cavalier with Captain Sam Hardeman and the New Buccaneer with Captain Matt Smith made 12 hour deep sea trips and both had great results. The Cavalier returned with 154 red snapper and the New Buccaneer returned with 186 red snapper, 177 vermillion snapper, 17 dorado, 4 amberjack, 8 scamp grouper,
3 bonito, and 6 shark.

On Sunday, August 2, the Cavalier had a nice bay trip with numerous sharks hauled in while the New Buccaneer did well offshore with vermilliion snapper. They returned with 550 vermilion snapper, 2 amberjack, 6 scamp grouper, 3 rock hind grouper, 2 littly tunny, 265 tomtate, 5 mangrove snapper, 7 lane snapper, 3 king mackerel, and 12 blue runner.
