Call to Action!

Email Governor Newsom Today

Governor Newsom’s Administration has proposed new engine regulations that may require over 80% of sportfishing boats and whale watching boats to be removed from service!

This is all part of a State plan that will require boat hulls to be modified for new engines and massive and bulky diesel particulate filters. If they don’t fit, boats will have to be removed from service, starting as early as January 2023.

  • Will put boat owners out of business and harm economy/jobs
  • Compliance impossible. Too costly to replace existing boats with new ones
  • Doubling the price of tickets will make fishing unaffordable/less accessible
  • Will reduce fishing participation rates/fishing license sales that fund conservation/fishery programs

Sportfishing boat owners need your help before these regulations put them out of business, denying you access to offshore fishing.

Thank you on behalf of the captain and crew of your favorite vessel.
