Stripers have been eating off the surface during the early morning hours on various top water baits and smaller paddle tail plastics with leadheads and kastmasters. Bait has also been effective throughout the dat either weightless to allow the baits to drift freely or using heavy sinkers to sink bait down deep throughout the coves or from the shoreline to endure the winds and currents. Sardines or anchovies and lugworms have also been working well to catch both stripers and catfish with those methods.

Bass have also become more active over the past couple weeks and crank baits or topwater in the morning. Some trout have been caught in deeper water using nightcrawlers and power bait with longer leaders to fish off the ground throughout the coves.
