The marinas have started to ice over
Utah Lake - Provo, UT (Utah County)

The marinas have started to ice over. Use caution: Ice in most marinas is 1 inch thick or less and extremely unsafe. Anglers ice fishing from the docks are reporting good to great catch rates for white bass, and fair to good catch rates for black crappie and yellow perch. Vertically jigging chartreuse or white-colored ice fishing lures (flies and jigs) is producing fish. We recommend tipping your lure with nightcrawler or mealworm. White bass, yellow perch and bluegill can be caught targeting the marinas, tributaries and near the Lincoln Point Warm Springs area using nightcrawler or lures/jigs tipped with nightcrawler. Catfish catch rates have slowed. Fresh baits tend to become more productive than stink baits and blood baits (such as chicken liver) as water temperatures cool down. Fresh white bass or common carp cut bait can be effective when fished suspended just off the bottom to better broadcast scent. Current low water levels can limit where shore and boat anglers can fish, and will limit where boat anglers can safely launch. Goshen Bay and Provo Bay, in particular, are extremely low. Utah Lake mud is deceptively deep and dangerous in these areas. Please use extreme caution.
