With the most recent trout plant on December 7th, anglers have been able to catch trout along the shoreline throughout the marina using various baits like nightcrawlers and powerbaits or smaller sized spinners and tubes in the morning hours. The canal by the entrance booth and the rip rap in front of the boat shop have been great spots from the shoreline for trout and stripers or catfish to sink bait and wait it out. Trout are also being caught out towards Spanish Point and Bear Trap on the same baits throughout the day using longer leaders in the deeper water. Stipers have been eating cut baits throughout the day off steeper walls and points and also various swimbaits around the lake. Bass are biting a bit deeper down off the soft plastics and in the morning hours, some glide baits and jerkbaits or deep diving cranks have been bit.

Bass have still been biting pretty well along the steeper banks and points around the lake on various soft plastic baits like creature baits, senkos, roboworms and nightcrawlers. Coves have been very productive areas to...... Read More

Kastmasters, Rooster Tails, and mice tail jigs either drop shot or split shot have been working well to catch trout earlier in the day. Powerbait with a small treble hook and a couple of split shots have also been effective throughout the day out deeper along the banks...... Read More
