We finally received another trout stocking on Tuesday, 01/03/2023. A good way to start 2023! Most anglers are having good luck with inline spinners, spoons, and mini jigs. Power-bait and nightcrawlers would also work. The striper bite has been steady, with a lot of smaller sized fish still being caught. Most fish have been caught using sardines, anchovies, and lug worms. Trolling has also been a good way to target these species. The swimbait bite has been a tough one so far, and hopefully this plant brings in some more action. The largemouth and smallmouth have been a little harder to catch. Most finesse style baits have been working off the bottom. Jigs, cranks, and spoons worked around main and secondary points has also been producing some better-quality fish. The catfish are still biting, mostly off cut bait or garlic worms. The bluegill and crappie are tougher to target, and the lower lagoon has been a better place to catch these species lately. Anglers be aware of debris in the water and aroun d the lake, current location of the debris field is down on the fishing arm. It moves depending on wind direction, and If it blows NE or NW again, the Marina can get clogged up with debris. Right now all is clear at the main launch ramp. The rain is dumping today and is predicted to continue throughout tomorrow. Do not forget your rain gear and ponchos!

We just received back-to-back trout plants last week on 11/09 and 11/10. First one was the smaller DFG truck, second was the three-tanker vehicle. Overall trout fishing has remained steady since it has only been a couple days since the plants. Power-bait doughs, mice tails, inline spinners, spoons, and mini jigs have all been getting some attention. A lot of the action has been closer to the main launch ramp around the docks. They have spread out better now, but...... Read More
