San Francisco, CA (January 30, 2023) – Crab lovers will want to be at one of the two seatings at the Golden State Salmon Association’s (GSSA) crab feed Saturday, February 11.  The lunch, 11:30am, and early dinner, 4:30pm, seatings will occur on the waterfront in San Rafael at the Marin Rod and Gun Club.

The feast will feature all the fresh crab (cooked on premises that morning) you can eat, house made garlic noodles, endless green salad, and garlic cheese bread.  In case you’re thirsty, some of California’s finest beers and wines, including longtime GSSA supporter Sam Sebastiani and his La Chertosa label, will be served. There will also be a great raffle featuring outdoor gear, vacation getaways, and other fun items to raise money for GSSA’s work to keep strong salmon runs and a healthier natural environment in California.

“We are happy to be able to put on the freshest crab cooked on premises the morning of the event, along with local sourced beverages, so folks can enjoy the best that the Bay Area has to offer,” said GSSA president John McManus. “This fundraising event supports GSSA’s work to improve northern California salmon runs and the clean rivers they need to thrive.”

Tickets are $85, or $800 for a table of ten, or $650 for a table of eight.  Click here for tickets or go to goldenstatesalmon.org.

The Golden Gate Salmon Association is a coalition of salmon advocates that includes commercial and recreational salmon fisherman, businesses, restaurants, a native tribe, environmentalists, elected officials, families and communities that rely on salmon.

GGSA’s mission is to restore California salmon for their economic, recreational, commercial, environmental, cultural and health values.

Currently, California’s salmon industry is valued at $1.4 billion in economic activity annually in a regular season and about half that much in economic activity and jobs again in Oregon. The industry employs tens of thousands of people from Santa Barbara to northern Oregon. This is a huge economic bloc made up of commercial fishermen, recreational fishermen (fresh and salt water), fish processors, marinas, coastal communities, equipment manufacturers, the hotel and food industry, tribes, and the salmon fishing industry at large.
