Good afternoon everyone! This young lady caught her first fish in this photo here at Santee Lakes! There has been action on all the lakes, however, lake 5 still seems to be producing the best results for bass. The best bait to use right now for bass are spinners, crankbaits, and swimbaits. Top water has seen a lot of success in the evening also!

We stocked Lakes 2 and 3 last week with 500 lbs. of catfish each this last Friday. Our next stock will be on September 15th. Catfish have been biting well. The best baits to be using are stinkbait, shrimp, mackerel, cut up hot dogs, and night crawlers! Our next big catfish event coming up is Stockzilla. It will be the last catfish stock of the season and lakes 2 through 7 will be stocked with a total of 3,500 lbs. split up amongst them! This is definitely an event you won't want to miss out on so book your campsite in advance and clear the calendar!

If you have any kids that want to learn how to fish the bluegill are biting right now and they're the perfect fish to try and catch when showing them the ropes. Wax worms work really well or other tiny sized baits.
