We have some exciting river news! Angler Mike Bradshaw, visiting from Wrightwood, California, had a successful fishing experience in the Big Bend area from shore. Using a top-water lure in a trout pattern, he landed an impressive striper weighing 35.5 pounds and measuring 43 inches in length. While the fish's weight may seem substantial for its length, it was indeed a great catch.

Speaking of trout, it's essential to note that the Rainbow trout in our waters are raised and stocked by the Willow Beach Hatchery, a federal facility. These trout not only provide anglers with opportunities to catch them but also contribute to addressing the caddis fly issue.

For those interested in rainbow trout, Community Park and Davis Camp are your best bets for the rest of the stocking season. Reports suggest that the striper bite is decent in the Community Park area and near the casinos. While there isn't much information from the lake area, it should be promising this time of year. Keep an eye out for birds or ripples, indicating a striper boil.

A friendly reminder: we serve as a weigh station for our area, equipped with scales provided by Arizona Game and Fish. Whether you've caught a trophy fish or simply want to know its weight, feel free to bring it in. We appreciate all the support from our angling community. Now, go catch a fish!
