On May 20th, several members of the Golden Gate Fishermen’s Association (GGFA) proudly participated in a significant event to support California’s salmon population—a salmon smolt release in Tiburon.
These releases are vital to the health of our salmon fisheries and play a key role in securing the future of California’s fishing industry. This evening, 1 million Feather River salmon smolts were released into the Bay—a tremendous step toward rebuilding and sustaining this essential fishery.
Representing GGFA at the event were President Michael Rescino, along with Joey Gallia, Brian Magaline, Jimmy McNair, Matt Blaney, and their families.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and all its dedicated members for their tireless efforts, long hours, and unwavering commitment to the survival and success of our salmon populations.
