The Animas has had some much-needed inflow of rain since our low and hot August. Temps have remained down, and fishing should be good throughout the day. We have been seeing hatches of baetis coming off late morning to early afternoon. Nymph rigs have been finding most fish, but dry droppers and streamers are also a good choice.

Dries: Vis-A-Dun Baetis 18-20, Ext. Body BWO 18-20, Parachute Adams 16-22.
Nymphs Brown or Olive Micro May #16-20, Killer Mayfly #18-22, RS2 #18-20, Juan’s Slim Shady #18-20, Iris Caddis #14-16, Thrift Shop Caddis #14-16, Psycho Prince 16-18, Prince Nymphs 14-18.
Hoppers such as a Morrish or Sweetgrass, 8-12. Lil Hopper Juan #12, Panty Dropper Hopper #8-12, Parachute Hopper #8-14, Para Madam X #8-12.
