In the spring, trout fishing — for both boat and shore anglers — is usually best in shallow to midwater depths. For shore anglers, try fishing trout dough bait or a worm off the bottom in shallow water. Boat anglers can do well trolling shallow- to medium-diving crankbaits, pop gear and a worm, or a squid-and-dodger combination. Fishing for largemouth bass and bluegill will pick up as the water warms, especially in the afternoons. For bluegill, try fishing a small hook, tipped with a piece of worm, under a bobber. Casting and retrieving spinnerbaits and plastics and suspending crankbaits, parallel to shore, can be an effective way to catch largemouth bass
