The Owens River Gorge is a wonderful year round fishery. and is a great alternative to the River when the flows are up. The stinging nettles are starting to return, but the fishing is very good. Try fishing a size 16 Royal Wulff or Parachute Adams with a #20 olive W.D. 40 or Surface emerger as a dropper. You can sight the fish, so they can see you too! Be stealthy and fish up stream with 5 or 6x to the dry fly and 6 or 7x tippet to the dropper. If you want to go early, fish a Midge pattern like a # 20 zebra or tiger under your dry fly. We guide this water all year, so call us for a day of fishing to learn how to take advantage of this fabulous winter fishery!
