An earthquake has occurred with a magnitude such that a tsunami will not be generated. This will be the only WCATWC message issued for this event.
Preliminary Earthquake Parameters Magnitude - 4.2 Time - 1236 AKST Feb 14 2010 - 1336 PST Feb 14 2010 - 2136 UTC Feb 14 2010 Location - 32.4 North 116.6 West - 40 Miles/64 km SE of San Diego California - 150 Miles/241 km SE of Los Angeles California Depth - 7 Miles/11 km The location and magnitude are based on preliminary information. Further information will be issued by the United States Geological Survey - Earthquake.USGS.GOV - or the Appropriate Regional Seismic Network.
