Groundhog Day & what's on tap for the Long Range Boats

Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow this morning, so we'll have just six more weeks of winter, as legend has it. Here in the southland we wouldn't expect winter to last a whole lot longer, anyway. Already the hawks are showing mating behavior, the house finches checking out nesting sites under my eaves, and the pelicans are showing a lot of color. I sure hope it means an early bite for inshore anglers, and that albacore will come close early to show the following bluefin tuna the way to San Diego.

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday, with three long range boats scheduled to arrive: American Angler, Red Rooster III and Royal Star. The following day will see Intrepid at the Pt. Loma dock, likely early in the morn.
