"Today," posted Pt. Loma Sportfishing May 15, "29 passengers aboard the Mission Belle ended up with 38 Yellowtail, 8 Sculpin, 6 White fish and 5 Rockfish." H&M Landing reported the same day for the Malihini: "24 Yellowtail, 40 Rockfish."

"Very good fishing at the Coronado Islands today," said the wrap-up from Seaforth Sportfishing. "The 3/4 day boat San Diego landed 74 Yellowtail. 30 of those fish were the 20 to 30-pound class, with the balance being 6 to 12-pounders.

"The Pacific Voyager, on an overnight charter, boated 23 of that large grade Yellowtail along with an excellent mix of Bass, Barracuda and bottomfish."
