The catfish are on the chew at Corona Lake.Heavy weekly stockings, makes Corona Lake the favorite local hotspot. Heaviest stringer of the week was caught by overnight fisherman Donovan Swan of Lake Elsinore. Donovan caught 10 catfish totaling 36 pounds using mackerel from a boat in the middle of the lake. Biggest catfish was caught by Sam Sombounkhane of La Habra, he landed a 11 1/2 pound catfish using shrimp near the boat launch ramp. Jose & Isaac Negrete of Lake Elsinore caught 18 catfish totaling 30 1/2 pounds using both night-crawlers & mackerel from a boat. Ray Costales of Menifee caught 8 catfish totaling 21 pounds, his largest catfish weighed in at 6 pounds using shrimp in the middle of the lake.
