Don Pedro Reservoir Fish Report

Don Pedro Reservoir - La Grange, CA (Tuolumne County)

There’s little or no fishing pressure here, but a very good bite on rainbows, some rather large kokanee and a few three pound king salmon.

I’ve found this action in Middle Bay working areas such as Grave Yard Bay, and the bay southwest of Oat Hill. Depths remain constant

at 40 to 50 feet for the rainbows, kokanee are holding around 70 feet and the kings at below 70 feet. For the rainbows, troll any silver lure, Ex-Cel, Slim Fin or Humdinger.

Kokanee are falling for Vance’s orange hoochies, Uncle Larry’s spinners in orange or green and Kokanee Killers in purple. Kings are going for rolled

shad or anchovies and/or pink wiggle hoochies. Scent pattern this past week included krill or threadfin shad gel on the silver lures, garlic or anise flavored shoe peg corn on the spinners and injecting herring or sardine oil into the shad or anchovies for the kings. Jet skis and wakeboarders took over last weekend. Using bait for catfish is the best bet while boat traffic is heavy. Danny Layne (209) 586-2383
