Fain Lake - Prescott Valley, AZ

Fain Lake, located in the heart of Prescott Valley, AZ, is a small but highly productive 3-acre urban fishery. Managed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, the lake is stocked with rainbow trout during the fall, winter, and early spring, and channel catfish during warmer months. The lake also supports resident populations of largemouth bass and bluegill.

Rainbow trout are stocked regularly from October to March and are typically targeted with PowerBait, worms, salmon eggs, and small spinners. Catfish are stocked in summer and bite best on cut bait, liver, and commercial stink baits during evening hours.

The lake’s structure, including rock piles and vegetation, provides good habitat for bass and bluegill, which are caught using small plastics, crankbaits, and live bait. Fain Lake is strictly a bank-fishing lake with no boating allowed, but its paved perimeter trail, fishing platforms, and wheelchair access make it highly user-friendly.
