Lake Information
| Fish Species: | Rainbow Trout, Lightning Trout |
Lake Gregory, situated in Crestline, CA, is an 84-acre mountain lake that offers a year-round fishery with seasonal trout and catfish stockings. Managed by San Bernardino County Parks, the lake is stocked regularly from spring through fall with rainbow trout and during the summer months with channel catfish. The lake sits at an elevation of approximately 4,500 feet, making it cooler than surrounding lowland reservoirs and ideal for warm-weather fishing.
Trout are typically stocked from March to October and respond well to PowerBait, nightcrawlers, and spinners. Productive areas include the dam, inlet, and fishing platforms scattered around the shoreline. Anglers are most successful within the first few days of a stocking event.
Catfish are stocked multiple times during summer and are targeted with cut bait and stink baits during evening hours. Bluegill are abundant and provide consistent action for families during warmer months. Largemouth bass are present and caught in spring and early summer using plastic worms and crankbaits near submerged cover.
Boating is limited to non-motorized vessels such as kayaks and float tubes. Shoreline access is excellent, and public facilities include restrooms, picnic areas, and walking trails. A California fishing license is required for those aged 16 and older. Lake Gregory offers dependable, family-friendly mountain fishing with regular stockings and excellent access.
