Mirror Lake - Kamas, UT

Lake Information

Fish Species: Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Redear Sunfish, Tiger Trout
Mirror Lake, situated at over 10,000 feet in the Uinta Mountains near Kamas, is a breathtaking alpine fishery offering consistent action for brook, tiger, and rainbow trout. This 55-acre lake is stocked annually and provides a peaceful, no-motor atmosphere ideal for both shore and float tube anglers.

Brook trout dominate the lake and typically range 8–12 inches. Fly anglers use dry flies like elk hair caddis or parachute Adams, while subsurface nymphs and leech patterns also produce. Tiger and rainbow trout are stocked and add diversity to the catch.

Spinners, spoons, and jigs work well for spin anglers, especially in early morning or evening. Fishing remains productive throughout the summer due to cold water temperatures and clear alpine conditions.

Facilities include Forest Service campgrounds, paved paths, and vault toilets. Motorized boats are prohibited, maintaining the lake’s quiet atmosphere. Ice fishing is not allowed, and winter snow limits access from November through June.

Mirror Lake offers more than just great fishing—it’s a serene high-country destination perfect for anglers who appreciate clear water, mountain views, and cool summer air.
