Laketown Reservoir - Mayfield, Utah

Lake Information

Fish Species: Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow Trout
Laketown Reservoir near Mayfield is a quiet, 20-acre high-elevation trout lake in central Utah. Stocked rainbow trout are the main attraction, averaging 10–15 inches. Shore anglers succeed using PowerBait, nightcrawlers, or spinners. Fly anglers often fish leeches or midges along drop-offs and inlets.

Cutthroat trout are less common but provide bonus opportunities, particularly in cooler months. These fish prefer deeper structure and respond well to streamers and drifting nymphs.

No boat ramp is present, but float tubes and non-motorized craft can access deeper water. Primitive camping is available, and the reservoir is reachable by dirt roads during summer and early fall.

Angler pressure is light, and trout are often active near shore during morning and evening. For those looking for a peaceful mountain fishing trip, Laketown Reservoir is an ideal getaway.
