According to Roberto Marquez, stripers are all over the area in good numbers, but difficult to get them to bite. Early in the week, the "Fish Cabo" had a 4-striper release day fishing in front of Chileno and wound up with 8 stripers released for 3 fishing days. The overall combined fishing report for the Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet & Fish Cabo boats for a total of 40 days reflected 45 stripers, (26 releases) 28 dorado, 1 yellowfin tuna and one roosterfish.

Cabo Climate: Mostly sunny & warm days with temps ranging from 68 nights to 93 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: From Golden Gate on the Pacific side to Cabo Falso, temps at 75. From Cabo Falso and out to the 1000 fathom curve, (95 Fathom, 1150 Fathom & Cabrillo Seamount) and northerly, the temps rose to 76-78 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: Early in the week was Destilladeras area and as the week progressed, just outside Chileno Bay area, about 2-3 miles off the beach.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was a must with very little taken on the lures.

Live Bait Supply: Mostly mackerel at the $3.00 rate, with a mix of caballitos.
