The offshore fishing is slowly turning around, especially for the
dorado catches and a few more sailfish, too. Unfortunately, very few
anglers in Mazatlan this past week, but for those that were, the
fishing was good, reflecting 5 sailfish, 1 yellowfin tuna and 30
dorado for 17 days fished. The inshore fishing for the super pangas
was nothing less than terrific, producing limits of cochitos, 30
sierra, 22 pargo, 16 baquetas and 15 barracuda for 4 days fished.
Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy with temps from 69 nights to 88 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Breezy surface winds with water temps from 81 inshore to 83 offshore.
Best Lure/Bait: Rigged baits were best for the billfish and dorado.
Best Fishing Area: Billfish are still not concentrated. Dorado were mostly sporadic bites over wide-spread territory.
