Normally, the full moon phase tends to make the daytime fishing more difficult, but this week, the dorado were cooperating with the anglers and the crew and the full moon didn't seem to slow them down. According to Geronimo Cevallos, the dorado continue to build under the buoys, allowing most of the boats to capture 3-4 dorado per trip. Sailfish caches remained down for this time of year, but they are seeing sufficient numbers to know an up-coming good bite is inevitable. Overall catches for the offshore sportfishers for 23 days fished, reflected 5 sailfish, 1 yellowfin tuna and 73 dorado. The inshore action continues to be fast paced with daily combo limits that included red snapper, cabrillas, cochitos, mojarras, pargo and baquetas.

Mazatlan Climate: Excellent weather with a good sun/cloud mix and temps from 72 nights to 91 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Stable throughout the area at 83 degrees from inshore to offshore, mostly calm

Best fishing area: good dorado fishing at the shark buoys. Sailfish are farther to the south and about 20 miles offshore.

Best Lure/Bait: Billfish taken on the rigged baits and the dorado taken on live bait and squid.
