The Striper Bite Has Been Good Throughout the Lake

The striper bite has been very well from the shorelines and thought the lake over the past couple of weeks with many anglers leaving with stringers of healthy stripers. Most people have been fishing Lugworms, sardines, and anchovies and having the most luck along the rip rap by the boat shop, the points past the swim beach and the canal by the entrance booth.

The bass bite has been picking up with various soft plastics providing the most bites such as senkos, roboworms and creature style baits.

Trout are also still being caught throughout the lake, mainly down deep in the toes using either powerbait or nightcrawlers. A few places people have been having luck at are out at Bear Trap, Yellowbar, Spanish Point and Posey Canyon behind Chumash Island.

With the warmer conditions over the past couple of weeks, the bite for everything has picked up very well. Stripers are still biting sardines and anchovies along the rip rap, the canal by the entrance booth and off of points around the lake. Fishing along the canal by the entrance booth and the rip rap in front of the bait shop has been really good for trout, stripers, and catfish on various over the past couple of weeks.
