EAST WALKER RIVER
The East is still running at about 262 cfs and has been at that level for over a week. The fishing has been very good down there with lots of good reports coming in from anglers nymphing and streamer fishing. Most anglers are reporting having good days with anywhere from 10 to 30 fish being caught usually with a few taping at over 20” for most anglers. Some patterns to try down there include: Ziwi, Dali Lama, sculpzilla, Cousin It, dead drift crayfish, perdigon, darth baetis, drag queen, flashback emerger, dark lord, soft hackle.

Also, some food for thought, in the Fish and Wildlife Departments infinite wisdom they have decided to not make barbless hooks mandatory on the East Walker, this is absolutely going to be detrimental to the life if this amazing river in the future, if you care at all about the East Walker and its sustainability, please pinch your barbs, if everyone adheres to this practice it will help the East Walker River to keep on being a world class fishery. Thanks for your consideration.

SCEIRINE RANCH
The ranch is still fishing well with lots of good fish being caught, also mostly on nymphs and streamers. We’re still getting some good reports of somefish in the 20 to 25 inch range down there. Give us a call if you’d like to book some time on the ranch.

HUNEWILL POND
Still getting good reports from the pond with lots of fish in the 18 to 24 inch range being caught out there. Most of the action is still on small leech patterns and soft hackles though often dropping small nymphs off of an indicator also works well.

BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR
The Reservoir is still kicking out good numbers of fish for most anglers, there are still some fish being caught from shore down near the dam as well as from boats both trolling and still fishing. The bait anglers are using mice tails, pinched crawlers, inflated crawlers and power bait and the trollers are using G-Ratt baits, Rapalas, TK Lures and Thomas Bouyants. Most anglers are reporting 5 ot 10 fish per day with some of the larger fish we’ve seen this week going over 6 pounds.

KIRMAN LAKE
We had a few reports from Kirman this week with some of them being pretty good while some anglers had a tougher time. The slow reports were from anglers who only caught 1 or 2 fish while the better reports werre from anglers getting into 7 or 8 fish. We even heard from one angler who caught a cutthroat which we haven’t hear of for some time. It sounds like the larger brookies are on the 17 or 18 inch range lately. Small leech patterns, soft hackles and scud patterns seem to be the ticket for the fly anglers up there.

TWIN LAKES
The Twins are still fishing very well with lots of nice rainbows and a few good browns making a showing this week. Trolling has been good with Rapalas, KC Lures and G-Ratt Baits, as well as Thomas Bouyants and Kastmasters. Bait anglers are doing well with inflated crawlers, mice tails, pinched crawlers and power bait.

WEST WALKER RIVER
We haven’t had much for reports from the West lately, it sounds like some days the flows are pretty high while other days it’s lower, depending on how cold it is and how fast the snow is melting. If you can catch it on a low flow day try some Panther Martins, Mepps spinners or Rooster Tails, or for bait try crawlers or salmon eggs.

VIRGINIA LAKES
It sounds like the fishing is still pretty good on the Virginias with the ice holding out at least for now. You should be able to pull some fish with crawlers or power bait as well as mini jigs up there.
