Fishing Conditions
If you want solitude, now is the time to explore the lower Dolores. However, that comes with the caveat that fishing will be tough. Ice will be the most limiting factor throughout the drainage, but if you find open water, fish small bugs deep.

Below McPhee, the gate is closed 3 miles below the dam.  Hiking will be in order if you want to make it to the dam.
