Ice usually forms on Huntington Reservoir by early December and lasts until late May. Trout are very active right after ice-on and usually provide good to excellent fishing along the dam. Heavy fishing pressure eventually causes this fast fishing to slow down as some fish get less active and others move away from easily accessible areas. Tiger trout will stay in the shallows, while splake can be found in deeper water.
