An earthquake has occurred with a magnitude such that a tsunami will not be generated. This will be the only WCATWC message issued for this event.
Preliminary Earthquake Parameters Magnitude - 5.1 Time - 2304 AKST Feb 24 2010 - 0004 PST Feb 25 2010 - 0804 UTC Feb 25 2010 Location - 51.7 North 176.0 West - 85 Miles/137 km SW of Atka Village Alaska - 35 Miles/56 km SE of Adak Alaska Depth - 18 Miles/29 km The location and magnitude are based on preliminary information. Further information will be issued by the United States Geological Survey - Earthquake.USGS.GOV - or the Appropriate Regional Seismic Network.
