BRIDGEPORT LAKE is still ON FIRE!! The fishing on Bridgeport is very hot right now, both for fly anglers and spin anglers. Mundo of Stay Bent Guide Service has had clients catch and release well over 250 fish within the last 6 days. A report from a camper down at the marina campground said that he was watching 4 or 5 fly anglers just off and North of the jetty and they were hooking up doubles and triples constantly while stripping streamers. It took a long time for the Reservoir to pick up, but it did and it's just about as good as it gets. I've also had a couple reports of some trolling as well. One boatload of guys said they hammered fish trolling small Rapalas out in front of Paradise Shores RV Park. When I asked them if their gear was getting gunked up with the algae at all they said that there lures were never in the water long enough without a fish to get dirty! Most of the spin anglers are fishing crawlers, with a little power bait. The fly anglers are fishing mostly damsel patterns stripped, and callibaetis, blood midge and damsel patterns under an indicator. Ken's has guides that can take you out on the lake either with spinning gear, or fly fishing gear, so if you'd like to book a trip and have some tight line action for the day, just give us a call! We also have fly guides that work the East Walker River and there's a few open dates on the books! (760)932-7707
