The East Walker River is still kicking out some great fish, and lots of them! The flow is at 91cfs today, and yesterday the temp was at 69 coming out of the dam first thing in the morning. PMD's in the am and caddis in the pm is still the way to go. If they're not taking dries for a given stretch of time, just try a dry/dropper rig, or a simple nymph rig. Had 3 guys on the Sceirine for a full day today, they just came back to the shop at about 4:00 pm and said they'd caught their fill and were worn out. One of them landed 1 brown he figured was about 4.5lbs and a 5.5lb Rainbow, both on streamers. They also caught fish on elk hair caddis, stimulators, and a few nymphs. The Sceirine is definately on fire if you want a little stretch of private river all to your self! I'm not sure how long this great fishing on the EW is going to last, as the water temps start to rise in to the mid and high 70's the fish are going to start getting stressed and at this time we'll probably be recomending that folks stay off the river in hopes that fish will not be hurt or killed. If we can get a break on the heat wave and the temps level out we may be ok, but if not it won't be too good for those fish. We keep a close eye on the river so stay tuned and we'll keep you informed.

The Virginias are still doing well, dries on top like beetles and caddis are a good bet, as well as streamers like Seal Buggers and Stillwater nymphs. Bait has been a little slow, but spinners and spoons have been doing well.

The West Walker River is doing great, the best section seems to be in the canyon along Hwy 395 near the town of Walker. Haven't had much for hopper hatches yet, I guess that's because of the dry conditions. Spinners, eggs for the spinning anglers, and for the fly folks, it's been attractors like humpy's, wulff's, beetles and ants. Water on the West us running right around 100 cfs these days.

Give us a call on those guide trips or private water trips and we'll get you set up!
