THE MAZATLAN FISHING REPORT FOR THE ARIES SPORTFISHING FLEET, MARINA EL CID, PACIFIC

It's still running about a 50-50 chance to land a billfish aboard the Aries Sportfishing Fleet offshore sportfishers and even the super pangas are occasionally landing a billfish, too. Continues to be good fishing weather inshore and offshore and the overall fishing report for the past week reflects 1 striper, 5 sailfish, (1 released) & 10 dorado for the 13 offshore fishing days. The inshore super pangas, reporting in for 9 days fished, reflected 1 sailfish, 1 dorado, 15 jack crevalle, 10 rock perch and 101 red snappers.

Mazatlan Climate: Cooler evenings and mornings and warm, toasty days that ranged from 54 degree nights to 82 degree days. A light jacket is suggested for the mornings. It's been a partly cloudy week with a good mix of intermittent sunshine everyday.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps ranged from 76 inshore to 78 for the offshore waters. Surface breezes ranged from almost calm to about 13 mph and the flow was mostly coming from the southwest.

Best Fishing Area: The better bite for the billfish were about 18 miles out to the south & southwest of the Marina El Cid.

Best Bait/Lure: The rigged trolling baits were working well and recommended.

Bait Supply: Excellent bait supply for rigged baits, all provided as part of the charters. Live bait is provided at the rate of $1.00 per bait.
