Another banner fishing week from Puerto Morelos and we are now seeing a steady increase in the billfish action thoughout this area. Another blue marlin was taken this past week and the white marlin bite is getting well underway as well as more sailfish throughout the area. Even better, the dorado, (mahi-mahi) are cooperating for the anglers, too. The overall fish counts for a combined total of 74 days fished reflected 1 blue marlin, 5 white marlin, 9 sailfish, 10 wahoo, 47 bonito, 55 dorado, (mahi-mahi) 6 giant barracuda, 2 Spanish mackerel, 11 blackfin tuna, 28 snappers, 11 groupers, 19 triggerfish, 2 banana fish and 8 chac-chi fish. We are entering into the prime time fishing period for this area that will likely continue to get much better during the next couple of months and the anglers are going to have some top-notch fishing adventures throughout this area.

PM Climate: Lots of sunshine this past week with occasional passing clouds and warm surface breezes. Air temps ranged from 75 nights to 88 daytime highs and a 74% average humidity level.

Sea Conditions: One rough and windy day caused a red-flag port closure day but settled down from there to fishable conditions. Surface breezes are on a tropical flow from the easterly directions and varied from light to 16 mph. Sea tmperatures remain stable at 80-81 degrees throughout the area.

Best Bait/Lure: The freshly caught ballyhoo baits or rigging continue to be the bait of choices by the crews and the anglers, provided as part of the daily charters.

Bait Supply: The bait supply in this are is phenomenal and continues to be readily available for every boat for every fishing day. We have never experienced a bait shortage for his area.
