Unfortunately, the port had been closed for 4 days, Thursday through Sunday, due to severely adverse weather conditions that rolled through the area with too much wind and too much rain and then proceeded across the Gulf to Texas and beyond. Prior to the down sided weather the fishing had been nothing short of excellent, albeit, the overall numbers of fishing days and fish counts were diminished. Our on-the-spot reporter, Ms. Jessica Ortega, says all the oats are bak to fishing and the numbers should be considerably increased for the next report. The overall fish counts for a total of 30 days fished reflected an 11 species mixed bag catch that included 3 blue marlin, 1 white marlin, 2 sailfish, 11 bonito, 31 dorado, (fish of the week) 8 giant barracuda, 1 grouper, 4 snappers, 16 chac-chi, 7 banana fish and 16 triggerfish

PM Climate: Air temps ranged from 76 nights to 87 daytime highs and a 79% humidity level. A mixed sun-cloud week with an occasional thunder shower on Thursday & Saturday. Much improved and back to very fishable.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps stable a 83 degrees throughout the area. Tropical surface breezes flowing in from the easterly directions that varied from near calm to about 12 mph. Overall, the Caribbean is calm and ready for the anglers.

Best Bait: The seemingly unending supply of the local ballyhoo continues to be the bait of choice for the various crew and anglers from the Marina El Cid Fleet.

Bait Supply: Continues to be plentiful for all of the boats and anglers departing on a daily basis and is included with each charter at no charge.
