According to Captain Temo Verboonen, it was another very difficult fishing week from Zihuatanejo, again reporting that March & April are historically the area's worst fishing months and that this year is no different as the waters are cooler and the clarity is poor from inshore to offshore waters. Adding to the poor fishing was the lack of boats fishing and searching a wider area for pockets of fish concentrations. Temo says it is almost like the season was over and the anglers are staying home. You go down to the pier in the morning and the area lacks people activity with only a boat or two getting out on a daily basis.

IZ Climate: Mostly sunny & warm days with a few passing clouds and temps that ranged from 72 nights to 91 daytime highs. Very pleasant and near picture perfect weather.

Sea Conditions: Water temps cooler, both inshore and offshore and both areas are suffering from a lack of good clarity. Seems like the green waters have taken over in this area for now and there is very green, off-colored water from the shoreline out to the 1000 curve before the clarity improves sufficiently to retain the fish. Surface breezes flowing in mostly from the west southwest at 10-11 mph.

Best Fishing Area: None reported. According to Captain Temo Verboonen, "until we see some change in the water temperature and clarity conditions, the fishing is likely to remain poor".

Bait Supply: The overall bait supply is very good for both, live bait at $5.00 per dozen, paid direct to the bait vendor at time of receipt and for fresh rigging baits, included in the charter rate.
