Just a terrific fishing report from the Caribbean community of Puerto Morelos, reflecting a 19 species variety in this past weeks catches that included the early season catches of 5 sailfish. With any luck at all, the sailfish bite will continue to grow as we move toward the peak month of May, when the white marlin join in the billfish bite. This past week's report for a total of 38 days fished reflected 5 sailfish, 4 dorado, 69 bonito, 2 jack crevalle, 4 giant barracudas, 1 Spanish mackerel, 1 bull shark, 1 mako shark, 2 blackfin tuna, 129 triggerfish, 40 strawberry fish, 51 snappers, 18 grouper, 4 grunts, 19 soapfish, 59 banana fish, 3 pilot fish, 13 grumpy fish and 4 amberjacks.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy but warm and comfortable days with temps that ranged from 69 nights to 89 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps are stable at 81-82 degrees throughout the area with good clarity and an abundant feed biomass all over the area. Surface breezes flowing in from the easterly directions to about 17 mph.

Best Bait: The one & only ballyhoo continues to be the bait of choice by the anglers and the crews.

Bait Supply: A seemingly unending supply is provided on a daily basis in a variety of sizes.
